Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of villagehalal.com (the "Site") and the products and services offered by Village Halal, operated by 9434-1740 Québec inc. ("Village Halal," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing the Site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

  1. SMS Messaging Terms

By providing your mobile number at checkout and opting in to receive text messages, you agree to receive recurring marketing and transactional SMS messages from Village Halal / WowHalal, including order updates, shipping notifications, customer service responses, new product announcements, seasonal promotions (including Ramadan and Eid), and back-in-stock alerts.

Message frequency varies. We typically send 2–4 messages per customer per month maximum.

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier plan.

To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any SMS message. After replying STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message and no further marketing or promotional SMS.

We comply with TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and CTIA guidelines for SMS marketing communications.

  1. Eligibility and Account

You must be at least 18 years old to make a purchase on the Site, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration and checkout process. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

  1. Products and Pricing

We sell shelf-stable Tunisian, Moroccan, and North African grocery products, including Boga Cidre, malsouka, harissa, mloukhia, couscous, and other imported food items. All product descriptions, images, and prices are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to limit quantities or refuse any order at our sole discretion. Prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise specified.

  1. Orders and Payment

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order. Payment is processed through Shopify and supported payment processors. You represent and warrant that you have the legal right to use the payment method provided.

  1. Shipping and Delivery

We ship within Canada and the United States. Shipping times and rates are estimated and displayed at checkout. Village Halal is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, customs, or events outside our control. Risk of loss and title for products pass to you upon delivery to the carrier.

  1. Returns and Refunds

Due to the nature of food products, all sales are generally final. If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, please contact us at hello@villagehalal.com within 7 days of delivery and we will work with you to resolve the issue.

  1. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, images, logos, designs, and product descriptions — is the property of Village Halal or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our prior written consent.

  1. Prohibited Use

You may not use the Site for any unlawful purpose, to harass other users, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, or to interfere with the operation of the Site.

  1. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and products are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Village Halal disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

  1. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Village Halal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site or products purchased. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the product giving rise to the claim.

  1. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Village Halal, its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

  1. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Montréal, Québec.

  1. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
